What you get

How the numbers are worked out

Money is counted in cents

Every amount is turned into whole minor units, such as cents or pence, as soon as you type it, and all sums are done on whole numbers. A price of 19.99 becomes 1999. This avoids totals that end up one cent off after many lines.

Where the tax is rounded

The net amounts at each tax rate are added up first, then the tax is calculated on that group total and rounded once. Rounding every line separately can give a slightly different figure. If your country requires rounding per line, check the tax amount against your accounting system before you send the invoice.

What this tool does not do

It makes the document, not the bookkeeping. It does not number invoices for you, check whether a number was already used, validate VAT IDs, apply reverse-charge rules or keep an audit trail. There is no logo field. Keep your invoice numbers sequential, state a clear due date, and ask your accountant if you are unsure what your country requires on an invoice.

Questions before you start

What information can I put on the invoice?

Your business name and an address block for your address, VAT ID and contact details, the same for your customer, the invoice number, issue date, payment terms and due date, line items with description, quantity, unit price and tax rate, an optional discount on the whole invoice, notes and payment details such as your bank account. There is no logo field.

Which currencies are supported?

21 currencies, including EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, CAD, AUD, SEK, NOK, DKK, PLN, CZK, INR and KWD. The currency changes the symbol, the separators and the number of decimal places. It does not convert amounts, and the page has no exchange rates.

How do I get the PDF?

Press Save as PDF. Your browser's print dialog opens; set the destination to Save as PDF in Chrome or Edge, or use the PDF option in Safari or Firefox. Only the invoice sheet is printed. Turn off headers and footers if you do not want the page address at the bottom, and check the paper size if you need Letter instead of A4.

How are taxes calculated?

Each line has its own tax rate. Lines with the same rate are grouped, the tax is worked out on each group total and rounded once, and the invoice shows one tax line per rate before the total due. Mixed invoices, for example services at 19% and goods at 7% in Germany, get two tax lines.

Is my invoice saved or uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Nothing is remembered after you close the page either, so use Download JSON to keep a copy you can import later.

Is the invoice legally valid?

The tool produces a standard invoice with the fields most countries ask for, but rules differ. Some countries require sequential numbering, specific VAT wording or electronic invoices. Check your local requirements and ask your accountant if you are unsure.
