Categorizing a bank export without a bank connection
What you upload
You upload a bank export as CSV or XLSX. No bank login or connection is involved. One job takes up to 50 rows and 64,000 extracted characters. This is an AI tool, so it needs an account and credits. A job costs 2 credits, and the cost is shown before you start. Category names come only from labels already in your file. The tool brings no chart of accounts of its own.
What you get back
You get a categorized workbook, a review queue, confidence fields and a draft-rule CSV. Transaction IDs, descriptions and amounts are carried through untouched. The category and its confidence sit in new columns beside them. Rows the tool is unsure about go to the review queue, with description and amount kept. Compare a few rows with your bank statement before you import the workbook anywhere.
Settings and what stays your call
You set the description language to auto, English or German. The auto-accept threshold can be none or high only. With none, every suggestion waits for your review. The draft rules are exported for you to check and are never applied on their own. Category suggestions help with bookkeeping. They are not tax decisions, so questions about how a payment is treated for tax belong with your tax adviser.
Questions before you run it
Do I have to connect my bank account?
No. You upload a CSV or XLSX export from your bank and the file is processed on its own. No credentials or bank connections are involved.
Where do the category names come from?
Only from category labels already present in your source file. The tool brings no chart of accounts of its own and does not invent new category names.
Can a categorization change an amount?
No. Transaction IDs, descriptions and amounts are carried through untouched, and the category and confidence fields are added beside them.
What ends up in the review queue?
Any row the classifier is not confident about, with description and amount preserved so a bookkeeper can decide. Auto-accept can be set to none or to high confidence only.
Are the draft rules applied to my file automatically?
No. Generated patterns are exported as a draft rule CSV for you to check, and nothing is applied on your behalf.
