List every amount in a CAMT.053 bank statement

What you upload and what the tool covers

You upload one CAMT.053 XML statement per job, with up to 100,000 amount elements. The file goes through safety checks first, and files built to overload the reader are refused. The tool then lists every amount. It does not build a transaction list with booking dates, counterparties, IBANs or remittance text. It does not reconcile balances or match payments to invoices.

What amounts.csv contains

amounts.csv has one row per amount with the columns Index, Element, Path, Group, Currency and Amount. Amounts from balances, entries, transaction details and charges are all listed. The same payment can therefore appear more than once, so a column total is not a statement total. An amount that is not a valid number or has no currency goes to findings.csv. manifest.json describes the source file for anyone checking your work.

No settings, and where to go for more

There are no options to set. You check that the right file is selected and confirm consent. Bank-specific extensions are not interpreted. No certification is claimed, and the statement from your bank remains the authoritative record. If you need a full transaction list or a reconciliation, a parser library or your accounting software is the better choice. Use this output to inspect what the file contains.

Questions before you run it

Does this reconcile a bank statement against my ledger?

No. It inventories the amount elements present in the CAMT.053 file. Matching those amounts to invoices or ledger entries happens elsewhere.

What exactly lands in amounts.csv?

Every Amt element found in the XML, with its path, the group it came from and its currency. Amounts from balances, entries and transaction details are all listed, so the same payment can appear more than once. Entry hierarchy and opening or closing balance reconciliation are not reconstructed.

Does it give me a transaction list for Excel?

No. amounts.csv has one row per amount element with the columns Index, Element, Path, Group, Currency and Amount. Booking dates, counterparties, IBANs and remittance text are not extracted, and tags other than amounts are not exported.

How large a statement can it read?

XML files with up to 100,000 amount elements. Bounded XML safety checks run first, so entity expansion and similar malformed-document tricks are refused before parsing continues.

Is this a certified or bank-approved CAMT parser?

No certification is claimed. It reports what the supplied file contains so a finance reviewer can inspect it, and the statement from your bank remains the authoritative record.
