Schema markup generator for JSON-LD

Pick a schema type, replace the example values and paste the block into your page’s <head>. Five templates: Article, FAQPage, Product, LocalBusiness and Organization.

  • Templates: edit and copy them on this page, in your browser. No job is used.
  • Prefill from HTML (optional): upload a page and get its name and meta description as JSON-LD, with a note on where each value came from.
  • Test the result with Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator before you publish.
1. Pick a schema type

Replace headline, description, image, dates, author and publisher.

One Question block per question. Use the same wording as the visible FAQ on your page.

Replace name, image, description, SKU, brand and the offer. The price uses a dot as decimal separator.

You can swap LocalBusiness for a more specific type such as Bakery or Dentist.

Template only. The HTML prefill below covers Article, FAQPage, Product and LocalBusiness.

3. Copy it: click in the box, press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on a Mac), then Ctrl+C.

Prefill from a page’s HTML

Upload one saved HTML page and pick a type, or let auto-detect choose. The name comes from the H1, or from the title if there is no H1. The description comes from the meta description.

page.html (your upload)

<head>
  <title>Slow drain fixes | Example Home Guides</title>
  <meta name="description"
    content="Three checks to try before you call a plumber.">
</head>
<body>
  <h1>How to fix a slow kitchen drain</h1>

structured-data.jsonld (type: Article)

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "Article",
  "name": "How to fix a slow kitchen drain",
  "description": "Three checks to try before you call a plumber."
}

evidence.csv

You also get manifest.json. The job fills name and description only. Add image, author, dates or offers from the templates above.

How the two parts fit together

Templates for the full block

The templates above hold the properties people usually fill for each type: author and dates for an Article, questions and answers for an FAQPage, brand and offer for a Product, address and opening hours for a LocalBusiness, logo and profiles for an Organization. Edit the values in the box and copy the whole block, including the script tag, into the <head> of the page it describes.

HTML prefill for pages you already have

The prefill job reads one HTML file per job. It takes the name from the H1 or the title element and the description from the meta description, and lists both in evidence.csv with the markup they came from. Nothing is written from the page body to fill missing fields. If the page has no meta description, the description is left out and the gap is recorded. For Product and FAQPage it adds a warning, because image, offer, question and answer fields are not taken from the page. There is no crawler, so for a whole site you run the pages you care about one at a time.

What Google decides

Neither part runs a full Schema.org validation or a rich-result test. Valid markup is a precondition, not a promise: Google decides separately whether to show a rich result. Run the Rich Results Test on the finished page before you rely on it.

Questions before you run it

What needs a free account?

Only the HTML prefill job. It runs on the server and counts against your 3 free jobs a day. Editing and copying the templates on this page happens in your browser and uses no job.

Which fields does the HTML prefill fill in?

A name taken from the page H1, or from the title element if there is no H1, and a description from the meta description when one is present. Each filled field is listed in evidence.csv with the markup it came from.

Which schema types can I produce?

The templates cover Article, FAQPage, Product, LocalBusiness and Organization. The HTML prefill supports Product, Article, LocalBusiness and FAQPage, or auto-detect, which picks a type from what the page itself signals and falls back to Article.

Will this get my page rich results in Google?

No. Valid markup is a precondition, not a promise, and Google decides separately whether to show a rich result. This tool does not run a rich-result test or a full Schema.org validation.

What if the page has no meta description?

The description field is left out and the gap is recorded. Nothing is written from the page body to fill it.

Can I run a whole site at once?

No. One HTML file per job. There is no crawler here, so a site-wide pass means feeding the page sources you care about one at a time.
