IFC & IDS BIM Validator
Validate IFC against IDS online
Add an IFC or IFCZIP model and its buildingSMART IDS file. The report names every failed requirement by entity and property, and exports the issues as BCF, CSV and JSON.
Add your model and IDS file
Drag both files onto this box, or select both at once in the file dialog (Ctrl or Cmd + click).

HOW IT WORKS
From model and IDS file to a list of failed requirements.
- 01Add the model and the IDS file
Select the IFC or IFCZIP model and the .ids file together. Free jobs take files up to 10 MB each.
- 02Confirm the job
Filenames, settings and limits are shown before anything is processed or counted.
- 03Review and download
Each failed requirement is listed by entity and property. Take the BCF topics into your coordination tool.

IFC & IDS BIM Validator FAQ
Which files do I upload?
An IFC or IFCZIP model together with the buildingSMART IDS file that holds the requirements. Without an IDS file only the IFC structure is checked. Free jobs take up to three files of 10 MB each; with Pro a job can be up to 128 MB.
What does a failed requirement look like?
The report names the entity and the rule, for example IfcWall #18842 missing Pset_WallCommon.FireRating, or an IfcDoor whose classification value is not the expected EI30.
Can I take the issues into my BIM tool?
Yes. Issues are exported as BCF next to the CSV and JSON, so they open as topics in a coordination tool instead of being retyped.
Does it detect clashes?
No. Structure, entities and property requirements are parsed and checked. Clash detection and geometry validation sit outside this report.
Does a passing run certify the handover?
No. It records that the parsed model satisfied the IDS requirements that were supplied. Contractual BIM obligations and model quality judgements remain with the project team.
