Turn an audio file into a waveform image
Upload WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC or OGG. The waveform is drawn from the real audio and comes back as transparent PNG and SVG files in one ZIP.

Waveform graphics drawn from your own audio
What you upload
You upload one audio file per job in WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC or OGG. The shape is drawn from the decoded samples, not from a preview image or an estimate, so the peaks match what is in the file. You can pick a waveform or a spectrogram. The tool draws the sound over time and does not identify speech, music, speakers or instruments.
What comes back
You get a ZIP with a PNG, an SVG and a manifest. The SVG does not trace the waveform into vector paths. It references the generated PNG, so keep that in mind before you scale it up for print. For long recordings the samples are reduced to fit the width. The manifest states the time range and how much reduction was applied, so you know what the picture covers.
Width and background
You set the width in pixels and choose a transparent or solid background. The prepared example uses a 1,600 px wide image on a 400 px high canvas. On a narrow image of a long recording, more samples are combined into each pixel, so fine detail disappears. Check the preview at the size you will actually use, for example on a podcast cover or in a video frame.
Questions before you run it
How are the waveform shapes produced?
From decoded audio samples rather than from a preview image or an estimate, so the peaks match what is in the file.
What size and background can I set?
Width is a number you choose, with a 400 px canvas height in the prepared example, and the background can be transparent or solid.
Can I get a vector file for print?
The pack includes an SVG, but it references the generated waveform PNG instead of tracing the shape into paths, so scale it with that in mind.
What happens with a long recording?
Samples are downsampled to fit the requested width, and the manifest states the time range and the downsampling that was applied.
Does it identify speech or music in the file?
No. It draws amplitude over time, or a spectrogram if you pick that visual. Nothing about content, speakers or instruments is inferred.
