Cut one video into named chapter clips
What you upload
You upload an MP4, MOV or WEBM video up to 10 minutes long, plus a chapter CSV with a name and a time for each chapter. Nothing is detected from the video itself. The cut sheet is exactly what you wrote. Overlapping ranges, times that run backwards and zero-length chapters are blocked before any encoding starts, so you can fix the CSV and try again.
What comes back
You get a ZIP with every chapter as its own clip, named for example 01-intro.mp4. A chapter CSV maps each clip back to its range in the source and reports where each cut actually landed. manifest.json records a fingerprint for every clip, so whoever receives the files can confirm they arrived intact. Play the start and end of each clip before you publish.
Cut precision and file names
Cut precision has two choices. Fast keyframe snaps to the nearest keyframe and copies the stream, which is quick but can drift by a fraction of a second. Frame exact re-encodes around the boundary so the cut lands on the time you set. The filename pattern controls how clips are named. Chapter names and times always come from you.
Questions before you run it
How do I tell it where the chapters are?
You upload a chapter CSV with a name and a time for each chapter. Nothing is detected from the video itself, so the cut sheet is exactly what you confirmed.
What gets rejected in the cut sheet?
Overlapping ranges, times that run backwards and zero-length chapters are blocked before any encoding starts. Fixing the CSV and running again costs nothing.
What is the difference between fast keyframe and frame exact cuts?
A fast keyframe cut snaps to the nearest keyframe and copies the stream, which is quick but can drift by a fraction of a second. Frame exact re-encodes around the boundary so the cut lands on the time you asked for.
How are the output clips named?
From the filename pattern you set, typically an index plus the chapter name, as in 01-intro.mp4. The chapter CSV in the package maps every output file back to its source range.
What are the length and format limits?
MP4, MOV and WEBM sources up to 10 minutes. The manifest records a hash per output clip, so whoever receives the files can confirm they arrived intact.
