Building a rubric and draft feedback from your criteria
Your criteria and the student work go in
You upload a file with your teacher criteria, which is required, and the student work as PDF, DOCX or TXT. One run takes up to 4,000 words and 64,000 extracted characters. The rubric is built from your criteria rather than a generic template, and each submission is read against them. A source over the limit is rejected before processing. The job costs 2 AI credits and needs an account.
The rubric, the comments and the evidence file
You get an editable rubric and draft feedback as DOCX and XLSX, an evidence CSV and a list of moderation gaps. Every comment quotes the passage it came from, and the evidence CSV lists those quotations against their criterion. When a submission shows no evidence for a criterion, that criterion goes on the gaps list instead of getting an invented comment. Check the quotes against the work before you share any feedback.
Levels, score columns and the grade you set
You choose three, four or five performance levels, and the wording for each level comes from your criteria file. You can add score columns, but they stay empty for you to fill in. Comments are formative and point to a next step, not a mark. The pack does not grade, score, discipline or profile students. Every grade and every final comment stays your decision as the teacher.
Questions before you run it
Does the pack assign grades or scores?
No. Score columns can be included but they come out empty for the teacher to fill. Comments are formative and point at a next step rather than a mark.
What do I have to upload besides the student work?
A teacher-criteria file is required. The rubric is built from those criteria rather than a generic template, and each submission is read against them.
How many performance levels can the rubric have?
Three, four or five, chosen before the run. The wording for each level is drawn from your criteria file.
How is a comment tied back to the submission?
Every comment quotes the passage it came from, and the evidence CSV lists those quotations against their criterion. A criterion the submission does not evidence appears in the moderation gaps list instead of receiving an invented comment.
What formats and length does it accept?
PDF, DOCX and TXT, up to 4,000 words per run and 64,000 extracted characters.
