Which lines become steps
- The line starts with
Step 1:or a dash (-,*or•). - The step starts with an action verb such as check, confirm, open, record, send or verify.
- Plain prose, even with First or Then, is not turned into steps.
- Write down what you do not know yet, for example “the notes do not name who signs off”. It goes into the gap list.
Step 1: Check the order ID on the packing slip. Step 2: Confirm the item count matches the order. Step 3: Record the parcel weight in the shipping log. Step 4: Send the tracking number to the customer. Open point: the notes do not name who signs off.

How the draft stays close to your notes
Every drafted step links to an exact quotation from your notes, and the evidence page shows those quotations beside the procedure. To check the draft, read each step against its quotation. If a step says more than the quote supports, that is the place to edit.
When your notes leave out an owner, a prerequisite, a caution or a verification step, the gap is listed as an open item and nothing is written to cover it. Safety and operational details stay your decision. Audience changes how much explanation each step carries; SOP style switches between a short checklist and a detailed procedure. Neither setting adds facts.
Questions before you run it
Do I need an account or credits to try it?
A free account is needed. You can run the job and read the preview and the credit cost without spending credits. 2 credits are used only when you download the package, which is about €0.70 with the 20-credit pack. Pro includes 40 credits a month.
How do my notes need to be written?
One step per line. A step line starts with Step 1: (or Step A:) or with a dash, followed by an action verb such as check, confirm, open, record, send or verify. Flowing prose without those markers is not turned into steps.
Will it write the steps my notes are missing?
No. A missing owner, prerequisite, caution or verification is recorded in the gap CSV as an open item, and nothing is generated to cover it.
Which scripts and languages are accepted?
Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text (Unicode ranges U+0020–024F, U+1E00–1EFF, U+0370–03FF and U+0400–052F). Arabic, Hebrew, CJK and emoji are rejected rather than being silently dropped from the draft. One job takes up to 4,000 words and 64,000 extracted characters.
How can I check that a step came from my notes?
Every drafted step links to an exact quotation from the source, and the evidence HTML shows those quotations beside the procedure.
What do the audience and style settings change?
Audience sets how much explanation each step carries, with options for a new starter, an experienced operator or a customer. SOP style switches between a short checklist and a detailed procedure. Neither adds facts that are absent from the notes.
